Jeffrey P. Cohen, a Ph.D. economist, is the Kinnard Scholar in Real Estate, and a Professor at UCONN’s Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies, the Department of Finance, and the School of Business. He is also a Research Fellow with the Community Development Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He has been a Senior Research Fellow at Saint Louis University’s Sinquefield Center for Applied Economic Research since 2021.
Since 2020, he has been a Fellow with the Homer Hoyt Institute for Real Estate and Land Economics. Professor Cohen has been a Fellow with, and a seminar organizer for, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, and some of his recent work is supported by the Land Economics Foundation. Professor Cohen has been the Principal Investigator for over $1.6 million in external funding in the past several years at UCONN.
His current research interests include transit-oriented development and housing; examining the impacts on real estate wealth from interstate highway construction; natural disasters and real estate; the benefits and costs of stormwater infrastructure; the impacts of airports, airport noise and other transportation noise on property values; property taxation; land value estimation; and housing price spillovers across jurisdictions.
Mr. Riccio is Co-Head of National Production for CBRE Capital Markets Debt & Equity Finance, and Head of Lender Relations. Mr. Riccio, one of the few player-coaches for CBRE, is based in Hartford, CT also acts as a trusted advisor to many top-tier institutional investors across the US. He joined CBRE in 2004 and has more than 40 years of commercial real estate experience. Michael has closed billions of mortgage transactions in major metropolitan areas around the United States in all property types.
Prior to opening the CBRE Capital Markets office in Hartford, Michael spent 23 years at CIGNA and held several real estate positions, including assignments in asset management, portfolio management and debt origination. Michael is frequently a speaker at national industry events and is a published author.
