Summit Development LLC is a privately held, full-service real estate investment, development and management company that was established in 1982 and has completed over 100 projects, totaling more than 8.0 million square feet of commercial real estate.  The firm has offices located in Connecticut, New York, and Florida and invests in an array of asset classes, including retail, office, industrial, residential (affordable, multifamily, and townhomes), marinas, hotels, and airports. Summit has been capitalized by many well-known institutional capital sources including private equity, hedge funds, investment banks and family offices throughout its 42 years.


Summit is actively seeking a full-time Associate/V. P to join its team and assist in all aspects of the real estate acquisition process and asset management of existing properties. This job offers a great opportunity to learn about the development business through direct access to the principal and the full development process. Equity participation available, subject to vesting. This job is full-time, in-person located in Southport, CT.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and underwriting potential acquisitions, redevelopments, and ground-up developments
  • Building institutional quality financial models using Excel
  • Assisting in the acquisition due diligence and closing process
  • Writing detailed Investment Memoranda
  • Assisting in the execution of the post-acquisition business plan.
  • Assisting in placing debt on individual assets.


  • Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic performance. Majors in Finance, Economics or Business preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a structured analytical work environment. Prior experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, REIT, real estate finance or real estate private equity firm a plus.
  • Outstanding financial analysis, underwriting and modeling abilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical/quantitative skill set.
  • Highly effective organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Intimate working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail, and capable of handling several tasks independently and simultaneously.
  • Self-starter demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Willingness to travel to Florida
